Purpose:
Our aim is to present DSA (digital subtraction angiography) for
imaging vascular morphology of the abdominal aorta aneurysms.
Materials and methods: During last four years 32 patients were
examined with I.A - I.V. DSA (30 men, 2 women). The mean age of
the patients was 63 years. Previously, aneurysms of the abdominal
aorta were diagnosed by US and CT. Using a catheter that has been
inserted into the aorta from a peripheral arterial site (art.femoris
superficialis), we applicated contrast agent. The examination
were performed on Polystar DFR unit "Siemens". Results: In our
study we found 22 infrarenal AA, 6 suprarenal and iuxtarenal AA
4 normal diametar of true lumen. 3 case left renal arteries were
narrowed, 1 case completely oclusion. In 1 case both renal arteries
were with stenosis in their arising from the aorta, 1 case completely
oclusion right renal artery.
Conclusion: Contrast aortography is the most definitive diagnostic
mode for functional and morphological assesment of complet evaluation
of abdominal aortic aneurysms and suspected renal artery stenosis.
